The American Heart Association Heartsaver® CPR AED Online course is designed for people with little or no medical training who need CPR and AED training for their job, workplace requirements, or personal preparedness. The current course reflects the 2025 American Heart Association Guidelines for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).

Cypress Education offers Heartsaver® CPR AED using the AHA blended-learning format, giving students the flexibility to complete the educational portion online before attending a required hands-on skills session.

How the Course Works

1. Complete Heartsaver® CPR AED Online

Work through the American Heart Association's self-directed online course at your own pace. The program teaches the essential knowledge needed to recognize a cardiac emergency, perform high-quality CPR, respond to choking, and use an automated external defibrillator (AED).

2. Complete Your Hands-On Skills Session

After finishing the online portion, attend a hands-on skills session with Cypress Education. The online course by itself does not provide an AHA course completion card; students must successfully complete the required hands-on skills session with an AHA Training Center or instructor.

During your skills session, you'll practice the techniques that matter most when seconds count, including CPR and AED use.

3. Earn Your AHA Heartsaver® CPR AED Card

After successfully completing all course requirements, students receive an American Heart Association Heartsaver® CPR AED Course Completion Card, valid for two years.
