HeartCode® ACLS Online
American Heart Association Blended Learning with Cypress Education
HeartCode® ACLS Online is the American Heart Association’s blended-learning option for Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). Designed for healthcare professionals who direct or participate in the management of cardiac arrest and other cardiopulmonary emergencies, ACLS builds on strong Basic Life Support skills while emphasizing rapid assessment, advanced interventions, and effective high-performance team dynamics.
The current course incorporates science and education from the 2025 American Heart Association Guidelines for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).
With Cypress Education, students complete the online HeartCode® ACLS curriculum first and then complete the required hands-on skills session to earn their American Heart Association ACLS Provider eCard.
How HeartCode® ACLS Works
1. Complete HeartCode® ACLS Online
The online portion is a self-directed learning experience that uses the AHA’s adaptive learning technology to create a personalized path toward ACLS mastery.
The program adjusts based on the learner’s performance and confidence, allowing experienced providers to move efficiently through material they already understand while spending additional time on areas where more development is needed.
HeartCode® ACLS also includes access to the ACLS Provider Manual eBook within the online course.
2. Complete Your Hands-On ACLS Skills Session
After successfully completing the online portion, students must complete a hands-on skills session.
Cypress Education provides the instructor-led skills component where students demonstrate the practical skills and clinical decision-making required for successful ACLS course completion.
Completion of the online course alone does not result in an AHA ACLS Provider eCard. Both the online component and hands-on skills session must be successfully completed.
3. Receive Your AHA ACLS Provider eCard
After successfully completing both portions of the course, students receive an American Heart Association ACLS Provider Course Completion eCard, valid for two years.
